Sarah said grace

Sarah's father was an itinerant preacher, which means he traveled often, talking to groups of people in his area.

It was hard work and the preacher was often away from his family for days or weeks, riding his horse or traveling by wagon in all kinds of weather.

But these men loved God and did their best to tell others about Jesus and encourage them to be strong in their faith.

After all, Jesus was an itinerant preacher!

Sarah's family said grace before their meals and Sarah had been taught to say grace while she was very young.

Saying grace means to thank God for the food in front of you.

It's to help us remember that it is God, not your credit card, that provides you with what you need each day.

Here are some simple examples of grace:

For food and friends
We thank you Lord
Amen

God is great, God is good
Let us thank Him for our food
Amen

Thank you God for giving us this food
We are grateful for your love and care
Amen

Give us grateful hearts, Father
For all your blessings
Make us mindful of the needs of others
In Jesus name
Amen

Bless us oh Lord, and these your gifts
Which we are about to receive
From your loving hands
Amen

Our Heavenly Father, kind and good
We thank you for our daily food
We thank you for your love and care
Be with us Lord, and hear our prayer
Amen

It is good to give thanks to the Lord
and to sing praises to your name,

to proclaim your gracious love in the morning and your faithfulness at night Psalm 92:1,2
