Robert Wadlow
Robert was known as the Gentle Giant in his hometown of Alton and loved by everyone for his gentlemanly ways.
He could have been a bully with his size and strength, but he never used his strength to hurt others.
He wanted his father to come upstairs once. Dad didn't come fast enough so Robert just picked him up in his chair and carried him upstairs!

Robert had to push several beds together if he stayed at a motel to make a bed big enough for him to sleep in.
A typical breakfast for Robert was:
Eight eggs
12 slices of toast
Huge bowls of cereal
Two or three glasses of orange juice
Robert was the tallest Boy Scout in the world. He loved boy's adventure stories and read about 300 books a year.
